Trek Itinerary

Day 1

Gangotri → Bhojbasa (14 km)

Start from Gangotri at 6 AM. The trail gently rises through pine and birch forests (Bhoj trees). Cross Chirbasa forest campsite (3,600m) for rest. Reach Bhojbasa campsite (3,775m) by afternoon. Overnight camping under the stars with views of Shivling peak.

Day 2

Bhojbasa → Gomukh → Return (5 km + return)

Early 5 AM start. Reach Gomukh glacier (4,255m) — the snout of Gangotri Glacier where Mother Ganga is born. Experience the turquoise glacial lake, roaring ice formations, and divine atmosphere. Take a sacred dip (optional). Return to Gangotri same day or stay another night at Bhojbasa.
